While the Missoni for Target craze emptied shelves in stores around the nation and crashed the retailer’s website Sept. 13, the local Hollister Target still had some items on display as of last week.

Missoni, an Italian fashion house, created a limited-edition collection for Target stores that includes such items as women’s clothing, men’s ties, luggage, home goods and more. All of the items include the iconic bright-colored zigzag pattern for which Missoni is known.

“We did also sell a lot of the Missoni here,” said Annette Ramos, a senior team lead for the Hollister Target, noting that there were still items in the store Sept. 15. “It was some of the stuff that was leftover.”

Ramos said that the store will not be restocked with Missoni items.

“We may get some stuff trickling in,” Ramos said. “It is available for a limited time at Target.com as well.”

Ramos said that store employees were warned that there might be a rush on the Missoni items, but she said she could not reveal the procedures for handling it or how much in merchandise had been sold on the first day.

According to a press release, all of the Target stores received some items in each of the departments which included apparel and accessories for women, men, girls and baby, as well as home goods such as bedding, dinnerware, stationary and decor.

The Missoni brand is usually sold at 37 Missoni boutiques and leading department stores around the world. The items generally sell for well over $1,000.

The collection at Target ranged from $2.99 to $599, with most of the items available for less than $40.
