Betabel Station Flea Market and Event Center is announcing its
public grand opening for Aug. 22. It will feature the Nu-Horizon
band, and free raffle prizes by Univision and 99.5 FM KLOCK radio.
The flea market and event center has been open since May of this
year. It is one of the first all green turf markets in California
that includes free admission. The market touts how it has a
pleasant environment to stroll through and a variety of vendors. It
has arts and crafts, antiques, new and used items, plants, produce,
a food court and the Sugar Beet Lounge, which offers beer and local
wines. For families with small children, there is a Kiddies area
with face painting, bounce houses and much more. There are a
variety of entertainment, including car shows, Polynesian shows,
dog show (August 28th), local dance groups, wine tasting events,
motorcycle poker runs, deejays and local bands.

The owners are Frank Paura, and Robert and Susan Postigo. The project was approved in July 2009. Susan Postigo stated that the flea market is growing each Sunday, actually tripling in attendance from the opening. Betabel Station Flea Market and Event Center is located at 9644 Betabel Road off the Hwy. 101 access between Gilroy and San Juan Bautista.
