The Walgreens location is shown Monday.

The new Walgreens store in Hollister is headed toward a November opening, according to the interim city manager.
Builders broke ground on the new Walgreens in late March. The company initially had goal of opening the 14,550-square-foot store near Tres Pinos Road and Highway 25 by October after agreeing to buy the 1.47 acres there owned by the city for about $900,000.
It now looks like the store will open in mid-November around the week before Thanksgiving, said interim City Manager Bill Avera.
From the process end with the city, such as permitting, there is little left to do for the new store.
“The only thing we have left, they just have to get their final approval from the building department,” Avera said.
