Calfire is reporting that a 36-acre fire in the Aromas area is
fully contained.
Calfire is reporting that a 36-acre fire in the Aromas area is fully contained.

The “Barn Fire” – as Calfire named it – started around 2:30 p.m. Saturday near southbound Highway 101 and Cole Road near Monterey and San Benito counties’ border, according to Calfire. The agency contained the fire as of 6 p.m. Saturday, according to its latest update.

The cause of the vegetation fire, which was northeast of the Red Barn along Highway 101, remains under investigation.
