For the past 15 years Debbie Bird, owner of Sweet Pea Antiques located at 400 Third Street, San Juan Bautista, has been offering shoppers a wide mix of treasures. With six local vendors working under one roof the variety of items to pick from is endless.
Sweet Pea Antiques offers art deco, mid-century modern, architectural, repurposed, shabby-chic, lots of home and garden decor, pictures, mirrors, chandeliers, in addition to a wide selection of collectible antiques.
When it comes to holiday shopping, Sweet Pea is the place to be.
“We carry gift items like La Lavande French soaps, La Vie earrings, local honey, and Adventures of Claudia greeting cards,” Bird said, adding, “We’re going to have lots and lots of vintage Christmas for your holiday decorating.”
Bird describes shopping in downtown San Juan Bautista as, “a stroll back in time.” The fact that there’s free parking and much less traffic compared to the mall or the outlet stores is an added bonus, and Bird says, “Don’t forget to visit the Mission.”
