Competitors include Jason Roascio in the 400 (7:05 p.m.), David Kret in the 800 (7:40 p.m.), Scott Medina in the 300 hurdles (8 p.m.) and high jump (4:25 p.m.), Enrique Ramos in the shot put (6:25. p.m.), Vanessa Estrada in the 1,600 (6:20 p.m.) and 3,200 (8:35 p.m.), and Krystal Alnas in the discus (6:45 p.m.).

On Saturday afternoon, the San Benito High softball team will be in action, vying for its sixth straight CCS Division I title. And for the third time in four years, the top-seeded Balers (28-1) will square off against No. 3 Gilroy (25-4) in the championship.

The two teams will meet up at PAL Stadium, located at 680 34th Street in San Jose. First pitch is 12:30 p.m.

Later that night, the San Benito High baseball team will be vying for its first-ever CCS championship when it takes on No. 3 Palo Alto (27-9) for the Division I title at San Jose Municipal Stadium, located at 588 East Alma Avenue.

First pitch is 7 p.m.

The No. 5 Balers (22-8) advanced to the title game for just the second time in school history after Wednesday’s 5-0 victory over Salinas, a game in which Bryan Granger tossed a no-hitter.

It is the first time San Benito has played in the Division I championship game since 2007.
