“The best thing to come to Hollister is this column. As for my thoughts, what is the deal with people sticking up for Robbie Scattini? If somebody would talk about how much work he actually does do as the San Benito County Marshal, the people may actually see who he really is. What he did as Sheriff and a Highway Patrol Officer is ridiculous. I won’t do your work for you though just read some of the back articles (18 years ago or so) of this very paper and the facts are in print.

As for the DA John Sarsfield – try to bury the hatchet and not in the backs of people, and just do your job until we can vote you out in a couple more years.”

“I am a graduate of San Benito High School. During my senior year, I had the misfortune to be the target of harassment. This harassment was in the manner of my school books being stolen out of my locker during school hours. My car was vandalized numerous times, we kept getting a lot of threatening phone calls at all hours of the night until my health and particularly my mom’s health deteriorated. We were stressed to the point that we both were prescribed anxiety medication.

We went to the vice principal and supervisor of attendance and discipline, with our concerns because my locker combination was given out without my permission or identification or authorization. We knew these girls who were harassing me, but we were always given the usual story of “it’s your word against theirs.” We had proof from one of the girls involved that they had gotten my locker combination and also vandalized my car. She even went to another supervisor in attendance/discipline and wrote a statement stating everything these girls had done to me because she started to worry that the harassment was getting out of control. A couple of nights later, I was run off the road on the outskirts of town.

The following year after I graduated, my mom was apologized to because the administrator realized we had been telling the truth regarding these girls who were harassing and making my senior year a living hell.

I could have graduated at semester but I didn’t because the school’s policy has been that if you graduate in the first semester, then you can’t participate in the graduation ceremony in June. My mom’s dream was to see her only child march in the graduation ceremony, but I was not allowed because the “stolen” books were never found (until the following year when a certain administrator informed my mom that the books had been recovered from a trash bin).

I have considered suing the high school district, but I can’t because my mom is an employee and I don’t want the district to retaliate against her.

I sincerely hope concerned parents of students at the high school now in the future push the school to change the policy for graduation and more importantly, take the issue of harassment issues very seriously.”
