“Hooray for Ignacio Velazquez! Thank you fellow citizens for truthfully reporting some of the shameful activities that happen in our county. You, Ignacio, are to be absolutely commended for your reporting. Persons that think that they have power and control also frequently believe that they can do whatever they like. Poor Tracie Cone has decided the truth hurts, especially when it applies to her and to her companion. Tracie’s recent article about a liar fails to address any exact item that is a lie! This then has to be evidence that no lie was made. Hooray for Ignacio Velazquez! Please please keep up the good work. If any readers have any evidence or items that they would like disclosed, please call or report them in this column or to Ignacio. We citizens must take back our county and make it a better place!”

“I read with great interest the article in the March 8 Free Lance titled ‘City to review General Plan draft.’ Mr. Huboi is quoted as saying he believes the update fosters affordable housing, namely rentals. Affordable housing and rentals are two different things entirely. Affordable housing is suppose to be housing designed by price ($80,000-90,000) for low-income families to be able to afford to buy and be proud to own, not something for a wealthy mogul pompous ass to buy and put a ‘For Rent’ sign on. Mr. Huboi needs to learn to define the difference between the two.”

“I will be the first to come to the defense of DA John Sarsfield and Sheriff Curtis Hill. Who thought of John Starbucks and Sheriff Sluggo? Just because our DA holds his power breakfasts with his assistant at Starbucks and Sluggo delivers a little street justice is not reason to go to name calling. The Sheriff and the DA via his grand jury, I guess, just want a little justice without a Superior Court Judge getting in the way. Listen, the DA has been losing so many cases in court and having trouble with gang members, perhaps reverting to street justice and backdoor courtrooms is the only way we the people can hope our DA and Sheriff can do their job. What’s a little relaxing of the Constitution anyway? The DA treats the Constitution more like a guideline than a rule, so why can’t we? What’s all this fuss about the DA sending county government jobs to Monterey? In fact, let’s just have one Board of Supervisors out of Monterey, and while we are at it, give Salinas the job of law enforcement to reduce administration costs.”
