“Seems that ‘Boss Hog’ may be trying to work his magic on one of the District 1 supervisor candidates, as she is now flip flopping on Measure G. She started out the campaign saying yes, then switched to no, now it’s back to ‘yes, maybe no, but I don’t want to be associated with either side.’ This measure is too big not to take a stand. Which is it going to be?”
“What do you mean if Measure G passes that we will see bare fields, empty hills? It’s already like that.
There used to be hay grown on the East and West of Fairview property, but not anymore.
We used to have a lot of orchards surrounding Hollister, but not anymore.
We used to go for drives in surrounding areas and see a lot more cattle and a lot less development than there is today.
I will agree that if we keep building and building we will buy our food from other sources. Ever see how they process produce in Mexico and could someone explain how rezoning property makes the dirt less valuable?
Do banks look at your property from a development point of view or an ag producing point of view because you would think that larger parcels would be looked upon more favorably than smaller parcels when it relates to farming or ranching.
If past building had addressed impacts and infrastructure like it should have, we would not be having this measure today.
The city and county both need to take a hard look at what has occurred and not repeat it in the future. I sure hope that if Measure G fails people keep their promise and hold that county growth rate at 1 percent.
I suspect then even the opponents of Measure G will struggle amongst themselves once they realize that 1 percent will not accommodate all of their plans.
This county and city is being ruined by development interest.
Remember we are not asking that property owners give up development, we just want a voice on how much and when because it impacts everyone when we grow irresponsibly.”
“The state should come in and perform an internal audit of the Hollister School District and investigate just where the money is going.
They certainly have entirely too many employees just sitting around talking or conducting private business ventures on taxpayers’ money. The public is unaware what inadequate, unresponsive district office personnel it employs.
To get a district employee to return a simple phone call is like trying to get ice to melt in the North Pole. There are entirely way too many incidents where workers get incorrect paychecks, have been promised and lied to, cheated out of wages or deceived, and the current Board members are oblivious as to just how low they can really get.
Maybe we need to think about getting rid of the old school Board members and elect new ones. We need Board members to open their eyes and start listening to the employees at the school sites.”
“How about the loss of Mr. Judnick’s life? What about the loss of income from a now deceased spouse? What about the loss of love, affection, care from a now deceased husband? What about the lifetime of heartache the Judnick family will always carry?
It seems to me the questions can go on forever for both families.”
