Showboat is more like it. If Hill really wanted to end the biker rally, all he would have to do, as chief law enforcement officer for the County of San Benito, is to say he will not provide the law enforcement services he has for the past seven years and require the city to use the established protocol for emergency assistance. This would give the city a reason to cancel the rally and the rally would be history.
As for ‘common sense, logic and vision,’ you left out two of the most important attributes – honesty and courage. If Hill were honest and had the courage, he would stop blowing hot air and put an end to the rally – if that is truly what he wants.
Personally, I’m against the biker rally. Every year during the rally somebody dies or is permanently crippled in a motorcycle-related accident. As you recall, last year it was Mr. Judnick.
I ask Mr. Hill, the City Council and the Board of Supervisors to publicly tell us what they think is an acceptable casualty level for putting on the biker rally – one death a year, two a year? How many?”
