Congressman Jimmy Panetta is expected to announce the winner of the 2017 Congressional Art Competition in Hollister later this week.
According to a press release from Panetta’s office, the 20th Congressional District representative will announce the winning entry at the Veterans’ Memorial Building on Thursday May 11 at 5 p.m.
The winning entry will be displayed in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. The winner and a family member will be invited to attend a special ceremony at the end of June with other young artists from around the country.
Panetta replaced former Congressman Sam Farr as the region’s representative when he won the race for the seat last November.
Congressman Panetta will announce the winner on Thursday, May 11 at 5 p.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial Building (649 San Benito Street) in Hollister.
