Editor,

My name is Gilbert Hernandez Braddy and I am the Uncle to Vanessa Jimenez.

I just read your article in the Hollister Free Lance about the decision the District Attorney decided on the 14-year-old sole survivor. I disapprove of the decision they have given to this child. It only leaves a message that if someone else decides to do something like this that they will get a slap on the wrist.

These kids need to know the damage that was caused and if someone needs to do some time in juvenile hall then let it be. I miss my Vanessa very much and this should not have happened.

If my niece Vanessa had survived this terrible wreck, I am sure someone would have wanted her to pay for what she did. This sole survivor needs to realize what damage she has done for being part of this terrible accident.

I live on the Peninsula and often read the Hollister Free Lance online and I was not surprised to hear that other accidents has happened involving teenagers. When will everyone learn that life is very precious and should never be taken for granted?
