Delo’s Divots: Unfortunately, golf doesn’t have any secret pill
you can take that will magically increase your distance off the
tee. However, it is no secret that by turning your back and
shoulders more will allow you to gain a few yards.

We tend to take the path of least resistance. That is true during our back swing. It is much easier to simply lift our arms and bend at the elbows to achieve what looks like a full shoulder turn. Unfortunately, in doing this, there is no coiling of the back muscles that stores the energy necessary to unleash the power in the downswing.
You can gradually work your way to a fuller turn. Keeping your left arm as straight as possible, take the club back so your left shoulder is under your chin. You will feel some stretching of the shoulder and back muscles — this is good.
After a few weeks of pushing yourself to this position, you will be making a fuller turn and your distance will increase.
