The rapidly expanding restaurant chain Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is planning to open in Hollister at 551 McCray St. where Dreamy Buffet was housed.
Dickey’s is a Texas-based chain that focuses its menu on barbecue sandwiches, barbecue plates and other barbecue-style foods.
A company called Calco Enterprises submitted an application for tenant improvements. The building department’s review is completed, while the health department is also doing a review of its own, said Abraham Prado with the city planning department.
Prado said once the business is done with building improvements, it will be up for a final occupancy permit. It is unclear at this point when Dickey’s plans to open there.
Dickey’s has more than 280 locations in 43 states.
A spokeswoman with Dickey’s could not be reached immediately.
