Our dog Diesel is a black Lab mix and he has nine lives. We rescued him nine years ago from a high-kill shelter, when he was 10 months old and had only three days left to live. He’s grown up with our now 5-year-old daughter and our 7-month-old daughter. He is 100 percent a part of our family.
He’s survived a brown recluse spider bite and he recently stopped a feral stray dog from entering our house where I was inside with my baby girls. He took the brunt of the six minute attack and almost lost his life and had to receive multiple surgeries. I can’t even think about what would have happened had the other dog managed to make it inside our house.
He loves to swim in lakes, swimming pools and creeks. He also loves it when our 5-year-old plays fetch with him.
Diesel is still recovering from his injuries from the attack, but we are hoping he pulls through. Diesel is a brave soul and an amazing dog that loves his baby girls so much.
