As a parent, I realize the importance of DNA. DNA is the fingerprint of the future. It provides an alternative to footprints that change as we grow older and fingerprints that are often illegible. The kits we used obtain and preserve a viable DNA sample for years to come. DNA is also an important law enforcement tool in identification that can save valuable time when it matters most.

Collecting the DNA was truly a community affair. We had volunteers from Target, Marguerite Maze Middle School and Dr. Ashokan’s office helping collect the samples. Their charitable dedication made it possible to facilitate the over 200 children that attended. It was truly heartwarming to see the community come together for such a worthy program.

Our goal is to expand this program throughout the entire community. We’re already making plans for another event and hope to increase the number of participants. If anyone would like to become a volunteer, please contact our office. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
