With his wife of 70 years and his loving family at his bedside, Lyle Siverson peacefully passed away in his Gilroy home in the early afternoon of May 22, 2010.

Lyle was born in Tyler, MN in 1919. His loving life is noted for many accomplishments. He graduated from St. Olaf College in 1941. In WWII, he served in Hawaii in the Philippines as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. He received his doctorate in education from USC, and served in school administration positions in several Southern California communities before becoming Superintendent of the Morgan Hill School District in 1967. Subsequent to his superintendence of the Morgan Hill schools, he became executive director of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an American school accreditation commission with a territory that includes the Pacific and East Asian regions. He retired from WASC in 1984, and eventually settles in Gilroy with his wife, Ellen.

Lyle leaves behind his loving wife, Ellen and two of their sons, Allen and Erik, their wives Margie and Nancy, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren Lyle was predeceased by his sister, Marion Anderson of Veblen, SD, and by his son, John Siverson of Phoenix, AZ.

Lyle and Ellen are founding members of Advent Lutheran church in Morgan Hill. The family requests that memorial donations be directed to Advent Lutheran, Lyle’s long time home church.

A memorial service will be held June 12, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Ave. Morgan Hill, CA 95037
