A 3.5-magnitude earthquake hit the region Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 9:10 a.m. and was centered about six miles east of Gilroy and nine miles north of Hollister, according to the USGS website. It was also 14 miles southeast of Morgan Hill. It happened at a depth of 3.4 miles.
People reported feeling it in San Jose to the north, Aptos to the west and southern San Benito County.
