Drogemuller sets pool record at Lewis University

Former Haybaler and Lewis University freshman Brandon Drogemuller was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Male Swimmer of the Week for his strong debut against Grand Valley State on Oct. 24.

The 2009 San Benito High graduate won both the 1,000 and 500 freestyle events after clocking a pair of NCAA B times. Drogemuller won the 500 in 4:41.74, while his 9:30.77 in the 1,000 set a pool record at Lewis University.

“Obviously we’re very excited for Brandon,” head coach Steve Thompson said. “We had high expectations for him coming into the season and we expect him to continue toward great things. It was a great way to start his career.”
