San Benito High graduate Matt Leal will be in town with the Cal Poly men’s lacrosse team this weekend when they play two games at area locations.

On Saturday, Cal Poly will play Santa Clara at Gilroy High School at 7 p.m., while on Sunday, the Mustangs will play in a scrimmage against UC – Santa Cruz at Watsonville High School at 1 p.m.

Cal Poly is ranked No. 9 in the latest poll by the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association.

Leal, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior at Cal Poly, graduated from San Benito High School in 2003. He attended Gavilan College before transferring to Cal Poly, located in San Luis Obispo.

The Mustangs are 3-0 on the year, having defeated UCLA 13-4 and UC – Davis 10-7. Most recently on Feb. 22, Cal Poly upset then-No. 8 Colorado State 11-9.
