Services will be at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. Graveside services and burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
 Frances Ramoni,”101 Years of Life”, passed away comfortably and at peace with the life she lived in her 101+ years. Frances was born in Hollister to immigrant parents, from Croatia, Antone and Ella Arnerich in 1911.
 She weighed less than 4 pounds when born and was kept in a shoe box by the stove to keep her warm.
 As the oldest child she quit school after her sophomore year of high school to help support the family. Her father passed away shortly after that and she helped raise her three brothers and a sister.
 In 1939, she married Julian Ramoni and had two children, Judy and Don. In 1947, she was widowed when Julian died from heart problems. She then began a long career raising two children on her own.
 She worked at Crow’s Stationary which later became Mauro’s for 45+ years. At the age of 75, she and some friends started a senior travel business which they ran until she was 95.
 She was a member of the Young Ladies Institute (YLI) and was club president, Grand Director and District Deputy. She also was a member and past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, member of Hazel Hawkins Hospital Auxiliary, and Hollister Women’s Club. She served time on the Sacred Heart Church Council and helped start their Bingo games and managed the Bingo snack bar for 17 years.
 Her volunteer activities included fund raisers for The Heart Fund, March of Dimes and serving on election boards for over 30 years. She also received a lifetime achievement from the Red Cross for her volunteer efforts. In 1997, she was named Hollister’s Woman of the Year for her volunteer work in the community.
 She is survived by her daughter Judy Arzie and her husband Frank and son Don Ramoni and his wife Violet, brother-in-law Bill Ramoni and his wife Jackie, numerous nieces and nephews, dear friends Enes Vallejo, Diane Allemand and Maria and Gabby Ruiz.
 She was preceded in death by brothers, Matt, Mike, Sam, sister Mary, husband Julian, and grandson Scott Arzie.
 She touched many lives with her active and social spirit.
