Janet Vanderhoof is an award-winning artist from Morgan Hill.

Award-winning Morgan Hill artist Janet Vanderhoof creates figurative as well as landscape paintings with the common thread being bright, powerful, vivid colors and her blend of Fauvism and Impressionism, originating what she calls “Modern Impressionism.”
Vanderhoof, an acrylic and oil painter, is a published artist with Grand Image in Washington. She not only is selling her work POD (print on demand), but also through Artaissance, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. Artaissance acquired close to 40 of her images to produce and sell. She is currently doing private shows, which usually consist of series works.
Janet received her bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and audiology with a minor in French. After she received her degree, she switched careers and became one of the first lumber sales women in the United States. Although her stint in the lumber industry was successful, she returned to school after her son with Down syndrome was born to “follow her bliss” and become an artist. She studied for the past 24 years with Charles Sovek, Charles Movalli, Camille Przewodek and George de Groat.
Vanderhoof’s studio is in Morgan Hill, where you can see her work as well as inquire about commissioned pieces. Contact her at [email protected] or call (408)460-7237.
