In less than one year in business, Intero Real Estate Services in Hollister has gained the top position in market share in San Benito County, according to a company press release.

With 22 real estate agents, the company leads in listings with 31 percent of the market and completed sales with 19 percent for the month of August.

“We are extremely pleased to have gained so much momentum in such a short amount of time,” said Jerry Kiss, vice president and managing officer of the Hollister and Gilroy offices. “Intero’s commitment to providing the best possible customer service has allowed us to attract the finest agents and, therefore, accomplish meaningful results for our clients.”

Intero Hollister opened in December 2002. A big part of Intero Hollister’s success is attributable to hiring top selling agents in the area, according to Kiss.

“We’ve built our company around the top agents in the local market – we give the agents an alternative,” Kiss said.

Even though Intero Hollister is a new company, it’s been able to attract many clients within the community.

In August, Intero Hollister listed 72 homes and sold 45 for $16.5 million in sales, Kiss said.

Intero is Italian for integrity, one of the core values of Intero Real Estate Services. It’s about honesty above all else, Kiss said.

While any company in the area is competition, Kiss said, the top three are REMAX Platinum Properties, Coldwell Banker and Century 21.

“It’s good to have competition. I think we offer clients a choice,” Kiss said. “I do think there is room for all of us.”

Intero’s attraction to real estate agents is an alternative to the corporate structure – they have more of a voice, Kiss said. Intero Hollister is more of a “local business on a local level,” he said.

Intero Real Estate Services was founded in 2002. Intero Hollister was one of the first three Intero offices to open.

The company has offices in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay area, including Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Los Altos, Los Gatos, San Jose and Walnut Creek. In the near future, Kiss is looking to expand Intero into Monterey, Carmel and Salinas.
