The crowd follows the final leaders group as they make their way up the 15th fairway during the final round Sunday at the Frys.com Open at CordeValle.

The Frys.Com Open is leaving CordeValle Golf Course in 2014, but it’s not going far.
Though the tournament is at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa next year, the goal is for it to move to The Institute Golf Course in Morgan Hill as early as 2015 – if PG&E ever allows construction of the course to begin.
Crews have been ready to begin construction on the 7,360-yard course’s clubhouse since October 2012. Plans were derailed by a PG&E review of a 34 inch gas transmission line that runs north-to-south through the property. The impasse shows no signs of being resolved any time soon.
“The plan is to move to The Institute once the golf course and club house are ready,” Frys.com Open Tournament Director Jeff Sanchez said.
“It’s intended to be the permanent home of the Frys.com Open and it’s intended to be the permanent home of the American Institute of Mathematics – it’s a charitable organization and it’s our host committee.”
The Frys.com Open is the first official tournament of the year for the PGA Tour and the first where players can earn FedEx Cup points. It will be held Oct. 7-13 at CordeValle, marking the fourth year the tournament has been held there.
“We’re very excited,” CordeValle Director of Golf Michael Marion said. “We haven’t seen a field list yet of who’s coming, but we’re very excited about the opportunity that we might have some really big name players coming.”
Marion said that despite the tournament not being held at CordeValle, he anticipates continuing a partnership with the Frys.com Open and The Institute. The nature of that partnership is something that will be determined with time.
