The Gavilan College women’s basketball team won its fifth game
in a row by defeating Cabrillo College 65-46 Friday. The visiting
Rams led 29-13 at halftime after starting the game with a strong
defensive performance.
It was a big game for former Balers. Nicole Donley led Gavilan
with 19 points, including six in a row in a key second half
run.
Sabrina Murphy scored 17 points and came up with key steals on
defense.

Sabrina Murphy scored 17 points and came up with key steals on defense.

Jen Tremblay also scored 17 points to go with her game high 17 rebounds. Lacy Byers scored five points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Cynthia Pinto chipped in with five points and set up her teammates on offense. Carolyn Beatty added two points and played strong inside for the Rams.

Gavilan’s record is now 8-4 overall and 5-0 in interdivisional play in the Coast Conference.

The Rams are currently ranked No. 3 in California in team defense, keeping their opponents to an average of 47 points per game.

The Rams’ five-game winning streak is the fourth highest winning streak currently in California.

Gavilan’s next game is home against Mission College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
