Travelzoo is the perfect Web site for those with little time to plan vacations.

Where to find it: Travelzoo – www.travelzoo.com

Who runs the site: The travel deal site was founded by CEO and Chairman of the Board Ralph Bartel in 1998. Since then, 11 million people have subscribed to the site in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The company is publicly traded and has researchers in 14 offices throughout North America, Europe and Asia who work with airlines, lodging and tour companies to offer the best travel deals for subscribers.

Who is likely to use the site: People who want to look for the best deals when searching for vacations, but who don’t have time to scour every Web site that offers vacation packages, airline tickets or hotel reservations.

Pros: Travelzoo subscribers get a weekly e-mail with the top 20 deals of the week. The deals are for travel arrangements; some to top destinations and others to places farther afield.

At the Web site, users have the option of searching for airfare, lodging or vacation by regions of the world. A click on the link to search for lodging in Las Vegas returns offers from Expedia, VegasView.com and a variety of hotels. Travelzoo staff basically collect deals from all over the place and compile them in one place.

Cons: Once you click on a travel deal, users are taken from the Travelzoo site to the one that is actually offering the deal so they must deal with navigating a variety of different Web sites. And once users get to the company offering the site it can be hard to find the best deals. For instance one offer listed Sept. 21 was a trip to Hawaii including hotel and air through January 2008 that start out at $530 a person.
