San Juan Oaks Golf Club is shown.

The Kelly Freitas Memorial Golf Tournament returns to San Juan Oaks Golf Club for the third consecutive year on July 12.

The tournament will once again expand to bring in more themed holes, such as the “high heel hole” on the 10th hole. Based off Kelly Freitas’ love for high heels, golfers will tee off while wearing high heels.

Other unique holes include a fastest hole – where the group that finishes the quickest wins the hole – and a blind fold hole.

The tournament begins at 12 p.m. and is $150 per person. Registration includes a round of golf, an Adidas golf shirt, a goodie bag, other contests, a BBQ lunch and a dinner ticket that includes music from Soul Kiss.

All proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Kelly Freitas Memorial Endowment fund at the Community Foundation for San Benito County. The scholarship awards a four-year college tuition to the recipient.

The event is in memory of San Juan Oaks’ director of golf Manny Freitas’’ wife who passed away of cancer in 2010. The event has taken place every summer starting in 2011.

For more information visit the tournaments’ Facebook page or you can contact Manny Freitas at 831-636-6113 ext. 15.
