It is still there
There is one thing that I always
– and I do mean always – stress to my students is that when they
make an improvement in their golf swing, whatever it may be, that
there is always a chance that the old problem can come back.

If they have to make a grip change, I tell them to look and see each time they grip the club that the old grip didn’t return. Whatever the change is, think about what you are changing and make sure you do it.
Tiger Woods, going all the way back to the days with Butch Harmon, has had a tendency to drop his head on his down swing. Butch said they worked long and hard to stop him from doing it, and they did. But Tiger still on occasion drops too much on his down swing.
Butch would have him hit balls off a tee, (and they were teed up high) with a pitching wedge so that if he dipped his head he would break the tee.
I saw one swing Tiger made in the Open where he dropped down over 4 inches and he ended up in one of the three bunkers he hit. Under pressure we all tend to revert back. So first make the change on the practice tee, get comfortable with it, but keep in mind when you play it’s still there, so pay attention and rehearse the swing you want to make and just make it.
