Gifts for Golfers
The one good thing about having a hobby like golf is that it makes it simple to decide what type of gift to buy. There are thousands of things to make your golfer happy. I’ll give you some help in this direction.
If you decide to buy a putter as a gift, make sure that it is a type and design that the recipient likes to look at for a long time. I tell my students that you buy a car because you like what it looks like, so the same goes for golf clubs. If you decide on a set of irons, it is better to give a gift certificate. Irons need to be fit to the individual and just buying a set “off the rack” may not work properly. If you are buying a driver just make sure to find out the loft and flex that is needed.
Most golfers have a particular type of ball they use – if you are not sure, sneaking a look in their bag should tell you. If all you see is different types then buy the ball that is the best price. Keep in mind that most avid golfers have been given either a watch with golf clubs as the hands or the ever-popular golf ball soap-on-a-rope by unwitting but well-meaning friends. But the most caring give is golf lessons; it really is the gift that keeps on giving. Play well.
