Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital is set to hold a grand opening for its new Mabie Health Care Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 2 at the full-service clinic location, 991 San Juan Road, according to a statement from the hospital.
The family practice clinic’s specialty services include OB/GYN, pediatrics, cardiology and orthopedics, according to the statement.
The new health care center, along with plans for another facility on First Street scheduled to open in 2010, was possible due to a multi-year pledge from the William and Inez Mabie Family Foundation for $1.5 million.
Hospital officials progressed on the clinic expansion, adding to existing facilities in the county, because the number of patients using such services here has increased dramatically in recent years.
