Your piece on Dial-A-Ride proved very informative. Dial-a-Ride has served offices, businesses, shoppers, and workers well since the early 70’s. It seems the community is on the right track with transportation. Let’s keep in mind how vibrant communities like Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington have free public transportation. Why? It serves the whole community and grows the economy.

With that in mind we see that our public transportation is vital for jobs, businesses, schools and people. I looked for but did not find in your piece mention of the wear and tear on our roads and highways, impact on our air quality from emissions, or market demand for extra service more vehicles would impact.

Do keep up the good reporting. Many of us look forward to a community of neighbors where many bicycle, walk, and ride car pools or buses to work, schools, clinics, hospitals, shops, restaurants, and recreation. Let’s hope we stay on track by serving all the people.
