I am glad to see election is over in peace. Congratulations to the winners. It takes hard work. To the losers, thanks for the good faith – maybe next time.

We still could use your expertise to make things move. To the winners you inherit a hard responsible job. Don’t let it go to your heads. Four eyes see better than two.

Things have been bad for the last few years. They could not have done better if they wanted. But now things have started to change it’s your obligation to push, not to hold back. I understand we have three plans that would be like a shot in the arm if you get interested – the Frazier Lake plan, the airport plan, and the solar system in Panoche are a good start if you don’t turn your back on it.

These plans if they go through will bring more business. More business will bring more housing. There will be the jobs that this county so desperately needs. That is what is going to straighten the economy.

San Benito is America, too. As one would say you live afraid, afraid they will dig your grave. Population will double in 50 years if we want it to or not. We can’t stop it. If it is true people have to live someplace. It is our obligation to think about the future, future of our grandkids, etc.

In my 60 years of steady work I have never been selfish. I always looked toward the future, not just mine but the ones around me. God gave me that attitude and I have no regrets.

Amadeu Lima is a San Benito County resident.
