Hollister Police Officers chased an alleged hit-and-run suspect along Nash Road to Tres Pinos Road to Sunnyslope where the driver allegedly collided with a sound wall in a second accident.

Hollister police officers arrested a juvenile suspect for an alleged hit and run collision on South and Line streets Tuesday evening.

According to a police report, officers were called to a hit and run collision near South and Line streets at 10:31 p.m. Callers allegedly saw a white vehicle involved in the accident.

Hollister Police Officer Bo Leland saw a white 1994 Pontiac Grand Am in the vicinity on Nash Road that allegedly had major front end damage. He reported that he attempted to stop the driver, but the driver drove away at a high rate of speed.

Police officers pursued the suspected driver eastbound on Nash Road to Tres Pinos Road and then Sunnyslope Road. The driver allegedly failed to yield to any traffic control devices.

Officers allege the driver attempted a northbound turn on to Versailles Drive from Sunnyslope Road, at which time the driver collided with a brick sound wall. Officers have estimated the two collisions caused thousands of dollars in damages.

The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody at the scene and transported to Hazel Hawkins Hospital even though he appeared to be uninjured, according to the police report. Police officers booked him on charges of fleeing the scene of an accident and evading a police officer with willful disregard for public safety.
