The Salinas Chamber of Commerce honored Hollister’s Kristina
Chavez-Wyatt as its Member of the Year at its annual community
awards luncheon on Feb. 10.
The Salinas Chamber of Commerce honored Hollister’s Kristina Chavez-Wyatt as its Member of the Year at its annual community awards luncheon on Feb. 10.
Chavez-Wyatt, from Meridian Pacific, serves the Salinas Chamber as vice chair of government affairs and community relations. She is also a member of the Governmental Review Council and Candidate Review Committee.
Chavez-Wyatt, who lives with her husband in Hollister, is a director for the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau. Additionally, she sits on the board for the Gilroy chamber.
“The Salinas Valley Community has many passionate advocates. I thank them all for their leadership, collaboration and diplomacy,” she said in a press release. “I am proud to have taken a role in the development of an endorsement policy, candidate review policy and committees.”
She is the co-legislative director for the California Women for Agriculture Salinas Valley Chapter, and has served in the past as chairwoman and government affairs director for the Central Coast Young Farmers and Ranchers.
Chavez-Wyatt received commendations from Monterey County supervisors, the city of Salinas, U.S. Congressman Sam Farr, California Sen. Anthony Cannella and California Assemblyman Luis Alejo for her efforts.
