The Hawks had been close to winning two other tournaments this summer, coming up just short in championship games.
The Hawks played good all-around baseball to secure the title, while out scoring their opponents 34-11.
There were many highlights over the weekend, but a few players stood out. Justin Terrill continued his trend of reliable and strong pitching, dominating hitters with a blazing fastball.
Chad Whitehead played great defense at shortstop and catcher, showing off a great glove and a quick release.
Stevie Cabral hit the ball hard, scattering line drives and driving in key runs.
Anthony Alvarez contributed with solid hitting, good base running and solid pitching. Alvarez kept hitters off balance and consistently by throwing strikes.
Russell Czernek continued to pound hard hits throughout the tournament and drove in many runners.
The Hawks players ran the bases very well, stealing bases every game and giving hitters a chance to drive in runs.
Nine of the ten players pitched at one point or another during the tournament.
The players who played in the tournament were Anthony Alvarez, Stevie Cabral, Russell Czernek, Bret Furtado, Michael Jensen, Dane Lamanna, Matt Miguel, Miles Sanchez, Justin Terrill and Chad Whitehead.
