Hollister police officers might look a bit unkempt in November. That’s because local police officers are taking part in a campaign called “No Shave November” with money raised going toward a local youth organization.
Police expect to vote on the youth group in the coming days, according to Hollister police.
According to an announcement from the HPD:
In November of this year, Hollister police officers will participate in a fundraising campaign for a local youth organization in participation with “No Shave November”.
Participating Hollister police officers will donate $50 to grow their facial hair for the month of November. The Hollister Police Officers Association voted to match each officer’s donation. Officers and employees not participating are also encouraged to contribute. Chief Westrick has pledged $100 for this fundraiser.
The Hollister Police Officers Association will announce the local youth organization they have voted to support with this campaign in the coming days.
“I think anytime you have the opportunity to give back to this great and caring community, it is a win for everyone. We are proud to serve and support the residents of Hollister. I challenge our local public safety partners, government organizations, service clubs and local employers to join us in this worthy campaign.” said Chief Westrick.
