Thanks for the great article about the passing of a great man … Howard Harris.
I came to know Howard through a mutual interest in water issues several years ago. We would talk on the phone for hours about local sources of water, treatment, distribution, politics, the 4-H issues, history, law, and usually more politics.
When I began to organize and develop the foundation of a community theatre group here in San Benito County, Howard supplied the seed money to incorporate the nascent organization we know today as the San Benito Stage Company.
More than 500 people have participated in locally produced plays and musicals and have entertained thousands of theatre patrons due to Howard Harris’ generosity.
It can be said that Howard had his share of adversaries. He was never afraid to take on any person or organization, including the City of Hollister, if he disagreed with what he perceived to be inequity or injustice.
There are not enough words to express what a great man Howard Harris truly was.
I feel fortunate and honored to have known him.
