For the second time in less than a week, the Anzar High boys basketball team met up against Latino College Prep, and for the second time in less than a week the Hawks cruised to a comfortable victory.

Behind 24 points from Niko Hebert, 21 points from Andres Gomez and 16 points from Mark Rania, Anzar easily defeated Latino College Prep 69-28 on Thursday at the San Jose Bulldog Invitational at San Jose High Academy.

The Hawks are now 2-6 overall.

Last Friday, in a non-tournament match, Anzar defeated Latino College Prep 62-24 in San Juan Bautista, and Thursday’s game held a similar storyline.

The Hawks kept Prep to single-digit point totals through the first three quarters, and built leads of 16-6 after one quarter, 29-10 at halftime and 49-17 heading into the final period.

Anzar will return to the Bulldog Invitational on Friday for its consolation match at 4:30 p.m., although its opponent was unknown at press time.
