Summit Prep, of Redwood City, went 11-7 overall, 8-4 in the Private School Athletic League to finish in third place. Summit Prep has not faced the Hawks this season, although the two teams did have a common opponent — KIPP San Jose Collegiate.

Summit Prep defeated KIPP twice by scores of 46-34 and 47-25. Anzar topped KIPP twice as well, with one of the games coming by a 25-13 margin.

The Hawks (8-14) won two of their last three games to close out the regular season, and finished in third place in the CAL, while Pacific Collegiate earned the top spot in the league and was awarded the No. 6 seed as a result.

Pacific Collegiate (13-10) will host No. 11 Kehillah Jewish (9-8) on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a win for Anzar on Thursday would advance the Hawks to Saturday’s quarterfinal against top-seeded Pinewood (21-5), which received a first-round bye.

No. 2 Eastside College Prep (19-7) and No. 3 Castilleja (12-14) also received first-round byes.

Other matchups in the Division V bracket include No. 10 East Palo Alto Academy (7-4) against No. 7 Jewish Community (13-6), and No. 5 Santa Catalina (11-11) against No. 4 St. Francis CCC (17-10).

The CCS Division V Championship will be held Saturday, March 5, at Santa Clara University. Tip-off is 10 a.m.
