After moving into the consolation bracket following its loss to Aptos on Thursday, the San Benito girls basketball team bounced back at the Alisal Winter Jam by routing Greenfield 42-19 on Friday.

The Balers had 12 different scorers in the game, and were led by Kelsey Robledo’s 10 points, while Erin Glasspool added nine points in the win.

San Benito is now 5-2 overall on the season.

One day after falling to Aptos by a 47-40 margin in the opening round of the Alisal tournament, the Balers returned to Salinas to square off against Greenfield and blew the game open by halftime.

The Balers jumped out to a 10-2 after the first quarter, then shutout the Bruins in the second stanza to take a 23-2 lead at the break.

Nicole Rianda added five points in the sizable victory, while Samantha Puentes added four points.

San Benito will return to the Alisal Winter Jam for its third and final game on Saturday to take on Pacific Grove. Tip-off is 12:30 p.m.
