Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital was recently recognized with an “Excellence through Insight” award for most improved “Overall Emergency Department Patient Satisfaction” by a group called HealthStream, Inc., according to a statement from the hospital.
According to the statement, the hospital recieved the honor for a “commitment to excellence in patient care” and it must have been a tracking client of HealthStream in 2012.
Hazel Hawkins built a new emergency room, with Measure L dollars, which opened in late 2010. Allowing the project – along with others such as the already finished support services building and a women’s center breaking ground soon – was the $31.5 million bond issuance that passed in May 2005. Funding for the 30-year bond came from assessed values on properties in San Benito County. The tax is $14.95 for every $100,000 of assessed value.
After the hospital recently surveyed its patients, according to the statement, it was chosen for receiving the highest rating in the “Overall Emergency Department Patient Satisfaction” from among HealthStream’s clients.
HealthStream CEO Robert A Frist, Jr., said in the statement: “We applaud Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital’s high-level commitment to excellence in healthcare – and we are pleased to recognize their achievement through our presentation of an Excellence though Insight award.”
HHMH Emergency Department Director Rebecca Jones released a statement saying: “Our staff is extremely dedicated to excellence in patient care and patient satisfaction. We always strive to maintain and improve our high level of patient satisfaction and to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.”
