I would like to make a suggestion to the parent writing in
complaining about the playing time their son received during his
Pop Warner football game. Have your son take the responsibility of
approaching the coach himself and asking the coach what he could do
to get more playing time. I found that this approach worked well
with both of my children and their involvement in many sports.

Have your son take the responsibility of approaching the coach himself and asking the coach what he could do to get more playing time. I found that this approach worked well with both of my children and their involvement in many sports. They are taking the responsibility upon themselves, they are not being defensive to the coach, the line of communication is open and the coach knows that the player is actively looking for ways to improve his skills. Try it – you will be surprised by the results.
