Dear Editor,

I would like to publicly thank the members and leaders of San Benito County 4-H for their kindness and their support for those of us in public safety who have to work on the holidays.

I work as a dispatcher for San Benito County communications. We dispatch all 911 calls in the county, including police, sheriff, fire and ambulance. It is necessary that we have personnel on duty at all times, even when most folks are enjoying a nice holiday with their families.

San Benito County 4-H stopped by on Thanksgiving Day. They brought baked goods and some fabulous vegetable platters with them. We thoroughly enjoyed these thoughtful gifts. We have police officers and other first responders who stop by and they also enjoyed the bounty bought by the 4-H.

This kind gift brought gratitude and cheer to all of us. We spent the day away from our families, but San Benito County 4-H was, as always, just like family to us. Thank you very much!
