Editor,

Last week you ran some letters to the editor written by some SBHS seniors. Zack Davis and Michael Barber wrote about the high school e-mail issue. Nicole Ernest and Stephanie Oerman wrote about the certificates of completion as substitutes for diplomas. I just want to congratulate them all, regardless of their points of view, for well-written, well-thought-out and insightful letters. Having so much negativity about how our children are being educated, it’s heartfelt to see these kinds of acts by high school seniors. I’m sure they must have proud parents.

Kudos to you, Stephanie, Nicole, Michael and Zack. I wish you the best in your respective futures and earnestly hope that you continue your educations and become responsible, happy and well-adjusted members of our society. You have to be an inspiration to your peers! Differences of opinion are expected, welcome and get many things accomplished but, please, learn to debate the issues without bashing those with opposing views. In short, always be respectful.
