State law AB1266 affects all California students K-12. It mandates that any child be allowed to use any currently-segregated facility such as bathrooms based on their perceived sexual identity, regardless of their actual physical sex. This bill has already been quietly signed by our governor and will take effect in January.
What does this mean to us as parents and grandparents? Envision your 6-year-old daughter followed into the girl’s room by an older boy. Envision boys and girls changing gym clothes side by side in the locker room. Does your child’s school have showers? Yes, shared showers too. No student should be forced to share bathrooms or change clothes in front of members of the opposite sex.
Transsexual students, however few, deserve the same respect and privacy as everyone else. But this dictate from Sacramento shows no respect whatsoever to the 99.8% who are not transsexual. It’s a classic case of reverse discrimination. There are better solutions (i.e.: alternative accommodations), and I for one trust our local school officials can accomplish this in a far less offensive manner without Sacramento bureaucrats tying their hands.
Speaking as a grandfather of nine, I find this bill utterly insane. Our Sacramento politicians are using our children as pawns to promote the LGBT agenda, and in the process stripping away their privacy, their modesty, and their innocence. This time they have gone too far. If all this sounds unbelievable to you, if it makes your blood pressure rise, then please help stop this insanity. Go to the website: privacyforallstudents.com for more information and download and sign the petition. 500,000 signed petitions must be mailed by Nov. 4 to place this on the ballot. Please encourage your friends, family, neighbors, teachers, church members and strangers to do the same. Together we can defeat this attack on our most precious possession, our children.
