Farewell city council meetings, I am taking some time off for all of what I went through with this election. They will never let people be involved; I was lied to, to my face. For example, I had an endorsement packet from the firefighters association for an endorsement letter. I never received anything. Then I come to find out they were never giving one out. So why would they give me a packet and make me go through the process and then say they are not doing that this year? I also did one for the county chambers. Another mislead there. It was all a joke to them. Another thing is when I was getting my nominations to run, I turned it in and was qualified on Aug. 4, 2014. Then I was told I had to go back out there and get more because the signatures were not valid, signatures from the thrift shop owner and coffee shop owner and other businesses. When I looked at Ignacio’s signatures and they were so unreadable and scribbled. But yet they all passed. It was ridiculous. That is how I feel they do not treat people equally. Another example; I found out on Nov. 4, the day of the election that the person in charge there told me that Ignacio got the endorsement letter because he employs people. Where is the job creation? There is none. They have top salaries and make enough money off overtime. They can do whatever they want. And avoid work.
For people to even run for election, it is not easy. I want people to know. People took my signs; turned them upside down in the dirt, people tried running us off the road and lashed out at myself and helpers. I’m thankful they weren’t cut up like Ignacio said his were. They also misled me, the city elections and county elections. In the beginning they said, I was the only one that had filed to run for mayor, yet they already knew Ignacio was running again and had already filed. It cost a lot of money; I really went all the way this year and did a lot of preparation. I did commercials and radio station commercials on KDON, flyers, key chains, calendars, pens, business cards, shirts and hats. I wanted to be able to spread the word and really get out there and show the people who I am and what I stand for and my marketing skills.
They do not want change in the city; they are set in their ways. Crookedness and dishonesty. (Freedom of speech) I can see right through them. It is a shame how the whole election process is. I was observing on how they do the process with the absentee ballots. It is a failure on that part. For the fact of, how do you get around 4,000 ballots come out of nowhere? When I called to asked they said they did not know where they came from. They concurred what they wanted for the no measure for treasurer. People do not even want to vote because it is so crooked and people can see that. You the people should stand up and take action. The only way for me to run again is if the mayor is recalled. I will be looking for a campaign manager, I went by the book. I am honest and loyal to the people. For the record I never received any donations from anyone. Also I wanted to say congratulations to the mayor; I wrote him but did not receive a response back. I really hope that something changes in this city. The people deserve better. Thank you again to everyone who voted for me and supported me, it means a lot to me. I hope the veterans had a wonderful Veterans Day and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I also hope they catch the person who took all the food from the food bank. Please if you can donate to help the people, I will also be donating and giving out gifts for the kids. Savemart also has the bags of food you can purchase for families. Happy holidays and God bless.
