Dear Editor,
As a new community group we have gotten together to avoid
confusion and misinformation. The good news is that we could save
taxpayers mismanagement of funds just by informing them where
exactly over $250 million dollars went. Imagine exactly what the
amount of hard cash could do for this community. We could easily
see less suffering in our schools, hospitals, and library, in our
city and county offices and on our roads.
New community group has been meeting

Dear Editor,

As a new community group we have gotten together to avoid confusion and misinformation. The good news is that we could save taxpayers mismanagement of funds just by informing them where exactly over $250 million dollars went. Imagine exactly what the amount of hard cash could do for this community. We could easily see less suffering in our schools, hospitals, and library, in our city and county offices and on our roads.

If you haven’t guessed, that amount of funds went missing to directly fund the war in Iraq. Instead of being known as people for proper use of tax funds, we are ” Hollister People for Peace.”

Our next function is rapidly approaching in two weeks on June 27. It is quick notice because we will feature a returning military veteran from a local family. He wants to share with his home community, his stories and the stories of his buddies. We will keep you informed.

Mabie workers treated patient well

Dear Editor,

I have just returned home following a lengthy stay at the Mabie Center (Southside) Hazel Hawkins Hospital.

Everyone – physical and occupational therapists, RNs, LVNs, CNAs, dieticians, activity aides, kitchen personnel, housekeeping, and maintenance to the office personnel and management – I repeat, everyone, to a person, was kind, helpful, and encouraging and always with a smile. I do not exaggerate.

Here I will single out two groups, but only to illustrate – the CNAs who not only walked but also ran caring for the resident-patients and the therapy professionals who allowed no let up in their very positive determination to return all of us to better health. And let me not forget the loving patience and kindness shown to the least able among us.

Mabie Center (Southside) is a very special place.
