Business Owners Making Effort to Bring Visitors to San Juan
Business Owners Making Effort to Bring Visitors to San Juan

Editor,

Thanks for writing about San Juan Bautista (“San Juan’s Future May Lie in Its Past,” April 6).

I own a new business in San Juan called Casa Galleria selling art and decor. I have been open for one year now.

I also was drawn to the old-town charm and in hopes of tourism to support my business.

But like many business owners here we are struggling due to low traffic. So I have formed a gallery walk to help bring people to our town.

We have four galleries in San Juan Bautista now and we invite the public to come visit us – and the town – when we stay open late the second Saturday of every month from 5 to 7 pm. It is free and open to the public.

Visitors can come meet the featured artist of the month, watch them working on a painting, listen to music, enjoy refreshments, and walk through the town. The shops and restaurants are open late as well.

This has helped a lot and my goal is to see this town become an artist community.

I believe with the help of your paper we may be able to have this grow, and help the town. I believe we are better together and we all need some help, especially San Juan Bautista.
