Thanks for Putting Symphony in the Newspaper’s Spotlight

Editor,

This letter is to thank you for the wonderful feature article in the Dec. 14 issue of the Hollister Free Lance that put South Valley Symphony in the spotlight.

I would also like to commend reporter Kelly Savio for tracking down the people she talked to to formulate this story. She was persistent as well as pleasant. Our musicians and conductor were quite pleased to see themselves presented in such an outstanding manner.

The support you and your staff consistently show towards our organization is deeply appreciated. Our area full of talent and overflowing with activities for our citizens to attend. Thus, SVS is constantly competing for our share of the audience.

We are grateful for the help your publication provides.

Instead of Ditching Cell Phones, Donate Them to Victim Witness

Editor,

Regarding the Red Phone column “Ditch That Old Cell, Then Call the Crusader” (Dec. 20) about the inability to recycle cell phones:

The local Victim Witness Office (Contact Katie @ 634-1397) is collecting cell phones to be recycled. The contact is Katie at 634-1397.

For every phone collected, the Victim Witness Office receives anywhere from 35 to 75 cents. All monies collected are being donated to the Emmaus House.

This is another great way to support victims of domestic violence.

Pacheco Pass Bypass Needs to Become a Reality Now

Editor,

Lots of rumors as to when and where the “new” Pacheco Pass bypass road will be built, but no action.

We need the new road now.
