Bicyclists Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Block Our Roads

Thank you for the article on the Team CSC bicyclists (“Cyclists Invade Area”) and the accompanying photo that you published on page B1 of the Feb. 10 Free Lance.

I ran into this group on Frazier Lake Road during the evening commute.

They were riding exactly as shown in your photo, three and four abreast.

They were completely blocking traffic. Because of oncoming traffic, it was impossible to pass them.

They had dozens of cars backed up behind them. Yet the went on for the entire length of Frazier Lake Road without once pulling over to allow traffic to pass.

Why are they allowed to do this? Is there anything we can do to put a stop to these rolling roadblocks? Other than to boycott their events and sponsors, of course.
